Due to strong business growth, we are seeking a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team based at Rutherford where you will work on exciting projects.You will be given guidance and mentoring by a talented team, with the aim of providing you with in-depth experience across all engineering aspects of the project life-cycle.
As you further develop your experience and skill set, you will be given new challenges to ensure your continual growth in the role.
WHAT THE ROLE INVOLVES:
- Compiling and updating assessment sheets
- Assessing jobs and projects including the identification of requirements (scope of work, lead time, materials, labour and process)
- Providing Engineering support to the business
- Perform Engineering Duties in planning and designing
- Design systems, develop and test prototypes of underground mining equipment
- Drafting 2D and 3D designs and drawings using AutoCAD that meet requirements
- Conduct experiments methodically, analyse data and interpret results
- Providing assistance and working with other Engineers
- Any other associated tasks to meet the business needs within your capability
- Diploma or Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering
- Ability to prepare and interpret engineering drawings
- A passion and drive to kickstart your Mechanical Engineering career in the mining industry
- Ability to analyse and solve engineering problems
- Sound Microsoft Excel knowledge
- Adequate experience and ability to work autonomously
- CAD knowledge would be highly desirable
- Experience and knowledge in underground mining equipment would be highly desirable
