About the Calvary Launceston 2024 Mid-Year GNTP
Our GNTP aims to offer you a comprehensive introduction to your Nursing Career, providing a dynamic and supportive environment for you to complete your Transition to Practise year that facilitates your growth and development as a professional nurse.
We appreciate that transitioning into practice is an exciting, although challenging time. We base our GNTP on a best practise Transition Changes Model. This enables us to identify your personal and professional needs as a newly graduated Nurse and assists us to support you effectively throughout this journey.

Our program includes;
- Comprehensive 2 day Orientation program
- 5 Graduate specific paid Study Days
- Supported supernumerary practice days
- Allocated preceptors, educators and consistent GNTP Coordinator support
- Regular debrief opportunities
- Opportunity for ongoing employment after your GNTP is completed
At Calvary Launceston we offer two six month ward rotations. We also have 12 month positions in speciality areas including Theatre.
This may be at either of our two Launceston Hospitals – Calvary St Vincent’s and Calvary St Luke’s.
About you
We are seeking enthusiastic new graduates that embody our mission of ‘being for others’ with a positive solutions focused attitude and a willingness to learn. You will be working in a multi-disciplinary team environment which will call for excellent communication skills with the ability to be flexible and adapt to change.

- AHPRA Registration
- Commitment to professional development and the completion of clinical competencies as required in the GNTP
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of patient centred care
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated communication, interpersonal skills and customer service skills
