Unlock Your Purpose

At Jacobs, every day is an opportunity to make the world better, more connected, more sustainable. We’re powered by more than 60,000 people across the globe who deliver innovative scientific, technical, professional and program management solutions for the public and private sector.

We're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.

Ready to make your impact on tomorrow? We’re seeking thinkers and doers, visionaries and change-makers to join our 2025 Graduate Program!

About the Role

When it comes to delivering a brighter, smarter tomorrow, our Defence & Regional Security team is at the heart of the solution. We partner seamlessly with our clients to coordinate and safely and successfully deliver projects and programs across the defence and infrastructure space. Our collaborative and flexible teams work across diverse markets and geographies delivering bespoke solutions to our clients’ most complex problems through a combination of significant experience and expertise and leading-edge technology – ensuring we deliver on tomorrow, together.

We are looking for a Graduate Strategic Planner to join our ANZ Defence & Regional Security team in Brisbane in 2025. Our team provides integrated planning, advisory and design services to deliver innovative solutions to inform investment decisions and develop strategic plans for projects across Australia and New Zealand. You'll help us service key federal government clients including the Department of Defence (including Defence Housing Australia), Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Department of Home Affairs – and we'll mentor you each step of the way to ensure you're set up for success.

Our exciting projects are broad ranging – from airports to logistic hubs, residential housing to base redevelopments, hospitals to infrastructure services and government buildings. We have a strong track record of partnering with these clients to challenge the norm and to create resilient developments that balance economic, social, environmental and strategic government objectives. You will quickly be involved in supporting senior team members in the delivery of strategic planning assessments, undertake planning or site level constraint analysis, interpret legislation and planning frameworks, support stakeholder engagement activities for projects and report writing including coordination of inputs from others.

Here’s What You’ll Need

It is an essential requirement for this role that applicants hold Australian Citizenship at the time of application and be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance.

Ideally, by January 2025 you’ll hold a university degree from one of the following study areas Urban and Regional Planning, Environmental Management, Sustainable Development/Sustainabilityor similar. You'll enjoy working in a fast-paced environment in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team to shape and deliver quality planning products for our clients, challenging the status-quo and thinking outside the box.

Our 2025 Graduate Program

As a Graduate at Jacobs, you’ll be a valued member of our team from Day 1 and work on real projects, bids and tenders from the get-go. From gaining hands-on experience, to participating in networking events and structured learning sessions, you’ll find new and inventive ways to help our clients make the world a better place.

Our teams offer a supportive environment to help you to learn, grow and excel. Working under the guidance and mentorship of our experts and industry leaders, you’ll develop the skills and knowledge to deliver the boldest solutions for the extraordinary and the everyday.

You'll receive structured advancement throughout the grad program, along with salary increases over your first two years. We offer a competitive salary, great employee benefits and income protection. Please note the salaries listed on our job advertisements are base salaries, excluding super.
