Bhagwan Marine is seeking a dynamic and motivated Graduate Tender Engineer to join our team based in the Perth CBD office. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the tendering process, contributing to the technical aspects of bids and proposals. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate with a background in marine engineering or a related field to embark on a challenging and rewarding career in the maritime industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Tender Preparation:
- Collaborate with the tendering team to gather technical requirements for upcoming projects.
- Conduct technical reviews of tender documents and identify project specifications.
- Prepare comprehensive technical proposals in response to tender invitations.
- Support delivery of tenders in accordance with Bhagwan Marine's tender delivery process.
- Maintain customer relationship management, tender management and information databases.
Technical Support:
- Assist in the evaluation of technical feasibility and risks associated with potential projects.
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams to gather relevant data and insights.
- Provide technical support to other departments during the tender process.
Cost Estimation:
- Work closely with the estimation team to develop accurate and competitive cost estimates.
- Analyse technical specifications to determine the resources required for project execution.
- Contribute to the development of cost models and pricing strategies.
- Maintain standard lists of current rates and pricing norms.
Client Interaction:
- Participate in technical discussions with clients to clarify requirements and address inquiries.
- Present technical aspects of proposals to clients in a clear and concise manner.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients through effective communication.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and technological advancements.
- Provide feedback on the tendering process to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Actively seek opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in Tender Engineering activities.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, quantity surveying or related field.
- Strong technical background with a basic understanding of marine systems and equipment.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrable ability to build complex Excel models, analyse data and present engaging summaries.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
