The Organisation

Guide Dogs NSW / ACT is the leading provider in Australia of guide dogs and orientation and mobility services for people with low vision or blindness. They guide their clients to independence, seeking new ways to prevent blindness and creating connected communities.

Most of their financial support is gifted through donors meaning their Fundraising and Philanthropy teams work hard to constantly grow and evolve to support the services and ongoing needs of the organisation.

The Role – Grants Co-ordinator

As Grants Coordinator you will sit within Guide Dog NSW / ACT but will work within one of their core excellence shared service centres that offer best practice fundraising across multiple states.

Working in close consultation with the Grants Manager VIC & NSW/ACT (Melbourne based), you will support all grant activities and income generation for Guide Dogs NSW/ACT, VIC, and Guide Dogs Australia by researching, applying to, and building relationships with Trusts and Foundations, Private Ancillary Funds, Club grants, and government funds.

Responsibilities

  • Manage & prepare grant applications and acquittal reports
  • Works with internal & external stakeholders to develop proposals, monitor, evaluate & report on the philanthropic impact
  • Coordinate special purpose funded programs in collaboration with internal teams
  • Maintain & develops positive relationships with existing philanthropic supporters
  • Coordinate funder site visits (NSW/ACT)
  • Utilise CRM databases for accurate data recording used for applications & acquittals
  • Coordinate bi-monthly newsletter to funders & program impact reports

Your Skills & Attributes

  • Demonstrated experience in grant writing, program monitoring & evaluation or research
  • Excellent professional writing skills to develop funding proposals
  • Ability to build & maintain strong relationships
  • A confident multitasker with project coordination experience
  • Displays diplomacy, discretion, and effective listening
  • Strong administrative skills, editing skills & attention to detail, confidence in using CRMs
  • Displays enthusiasm, creativity & innovation
  • Must be comfortable around large dogs
