The Anthony Costa Foundation is a family foundation established to support the philanthropy of the Anthony and Elaine Costa and the Robert and Rita Costa families. The Foundation seeks to make a positive impact in the communities where our families live and work by ensuring children and young people can thrive, everyone has a safe place to live, and our communities are vibrant. Given the strong ties both families have to Geelong region, the Foundation’s geographic focus for giving is on eligible organisations, projects, initiatives, and activities within this region.

THIS IS WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

The purpose of this role is to provide administrative and programmatic support to the Foundation’s Grantmaking Strategy. The role will work with a variety of stakeholders including applicants, grantees, other funders, the Board, family members and Costa Asset Management staff and partners.

Working as part of a small team, this role will report to the Foundation’s General Manager. While the role is currently a 0.6 Part time (22.8 hours per week) role, there is opportunity to grow the role, and flexibility around days and hours.

THIS ROLE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Actioning all aspects of grants administration, including grant round logistics, responding to grant enquiries, preparation of applications for review and the notification process
  • Managing Foundation’s grants management system and CRM (Tahua and Salesforce) 
  • Working with the GM and Board in the assessment of applications by conducting due diligence, reviewing applications and contributing to written analysis for the Board
  • Overseeing grantee progress and contributing to regular written reports for the Board
  • Supporting grantees to ensure success through grantee capacity building, learning and information sharing
  • Assisting with development and implementation of frameworks and systems to track Foundation impact and learning
  • Attending meetings and events 
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with all Foundation stakeholders
  • Providing governance and Board support by taking minutes and attending all board meetings 

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE YOU WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING

  • Proven track record of success in a similar not-for-profit/philanthropic sector grants role
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a collaborative team and customer service-oriented approach
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong research, analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Capacity to facilitate discussion, effectively engage stakeholders and support change, development and growth in community programs
  • Organised and methodical with strong attention to detail and process
  • High level competency with Microsoft Office, and comfortability with databases and CRMs.
  • Resourceful, able to take initiative and produce self-directed work, with a willingness to jump in and assist where needed
  • High levels of confidentiality and integrity; operates with discretion and demonstrates sound professional judgement.
