Saint Stephen’s College is currently seeking two Bus Driver roles for people also willing to work with the Grounds and Maintenance Team.
Depending on the applicants, the hours worked may be flexible (either 6:15am to 2:15pm or 8:45am to 4:45pm Monday to Friday).
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Safe transport of school children to and from school (in multiple types of buses)
- Carry out checks as defined in the Daily Inspection Report and report defects
- Maintain a clean and tidy bus
- Uphold customer service with students and parents, during all interactions on the bus run
- Maintain and develop the College Grounds and ovals, including mowing of grass, weeding, planting and Maintenance of gardens. Apply fertilisers, fungicides, herbicides and insecticides as required.
- Maintain general tidiness of the College grounds by leaf blowing, clearing of rubbish and debris
- Establish and maintain pedestrian ways, the college car parks, service roads and traffic areas around the college.
- Ensure appropriate maintenance of signages around the college.
- Maintenance and monitoring of irrigation systems. Monitor the automatic reticulation system to ensure efficient watering of all areas.
- General repairs and Maintenance, including minor works such as patching and painting, carpentry and preventative maintenance as directed by the Facilities Manager.
- Assist during sporting activities and College Events – setup, pack up and Maintenance.
- Carries out cleaning and Maintenance of garden tools, equipment and report any defects for attention.
- Complete all record books, service logs and any other book work.
- Attend team meetings and required training.
Essential Criteria
- Clear driving history
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Blue Card, in accordance with ‘No Card, No Start law’, as per the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000
- First Aid certification (or willingness to complete first aid training)
- Current Queensland manual Medium Rigid Drivers License or higher
- Current Driver Authorisation from Queensland Transport
Desirable Criteria
- Previous experience in a College environment.
- Demonstrated competence in basic preventative and reactive maintenance
- Demonstrated experience as a general handy-person with the ability to use power tools (including saws, hammers, drills, leaf blowers etc).
