With over 7000 hectares of public gardens, bushland park, sports and recreation facilities and other open space and an extensive urban forest, the Toowoomba region is well known for its liveability and green infrastructure. The Parks and Recreation Services Branch is responsible for planning, developing and maintaining our beautiful green infrastructure, some of which is heritage listed, and keeping up with the strong growth across the region. The team is a diverse mix of approximately 200 people working as labourers, gardeners, arborists, horticulturalists, plant operators, rangers, cleaners, project managers, landscape architects, administrators, regulators and their managers and leaders.About the positionThe Horticulturist position will be responsible for performing skilled gardening work ensuring quality assurance and best practice standards are maintained in the relevant work area, with a focus on providing a high level of stakeholder service to provide efficient delivery of the desired levels of service for open space areas within the Toowoomba Region.This position will work under limited supervision.

- The base wage rate for these positions is $1,129.62 gross per 38 hour week, plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.65% superannuation.
- These are Permanent Full time positions based at our Principal Depot in Charlton.
