Grounds Keeper-Horticulturist (The Tops Conference Centre)

• Build positive relationships and provide excellent customer service with internal and external stakeholders
• Contribute to the team with positive communication and a collaborative approach
• Maintain gardens, lawns, grounds and carparks to ensure that the sites is highly presentable. This includes:
  seasonal fertilizing of lawns and gardens and weed management;
• Periodic pruning, regular trimming trees and hedges & replanting of gardens where required;
  - removal of rubbish and recycling bins;
  - water features and waterways including storm water pits;
  - maintenance of lawn and gardening machinery/equipment
  - operate various types of power equipment including lawn mowers, trimmers, hedge trimmers etc
• Provide assistance to maintenance staff as required (including relief maintenance staff for periods of leave)
• Roof gutter cleaning.
• Self motivated and able to work in a team

• MINIMUM Certificate III in Horticulture.
• Current Chemical Handling Certificate preferred.
• Chainsaw Operation - Trim and Cross Cut Felled Trees Certificate preferred.
• Experience with identifying Australian Naive Plant.
• Demonstrated experience in a similar role, ideally two (2) years or more
• Applied knowledge of requirements for lawns and gardens maintenance
• Problem solving and decision-making skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Adhere to and promote a safe and healthy workplace culture
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite - a demonstrated ability to utilise Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Exceptional customer service and/or stakeholder engagement skills
• Must have valid drivers license and own vehicle
• Must have experience operating and maintaining role related equipment (e.g.-ride on mowers, whipper snipper, chainsaw etc)
• A valid Working With Children Check (for paid employment)
• Three COVID-19 vaccinations in line with current requirements (or willingness to obtain)
