As Grounds Person, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day maintenance and operation of the 66-hectare State Equestrian Centre (SEC) in Brigadoon.
Reporting directly to the SEC Facilities Coordinator, you will ensure that the facility is presented to a high standard for events and other bookings.
You will find your day diversified as you are tasked with a range of duties including but not limited to arena preparation (may include but not limited to arena grading), completing maintenance requests, gardening, mowing, waste management and more.
This Full time position may require rotational weekend work.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
- Previous experience working within a similar position in grounds and/or facility management.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently/unsupervised and/or as a collaborative team member.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and to meet deadlines.
- Strong influencing and problem solving skills.
- Ability to lift and move equipment (e.g. reticulation system, event set up etc.)
- Experience with machinery and tools (e.g. Mowing, Whipper snipping, Hedging, chainsaw)
- Current First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain one
- Current Working with Children Certificate or willing to obtain one
- National Police Check or willing to obtain one
- Western Australia driver’s license
Desirable:
- Experience working within the sporting industry (e.g. equestrian, racing)
- Possess the relevant licenses to operate heavy machinery or other equipment (e.g. skid steer, tractor)
- Working at Heights Certificate
- Working with Hazardous Material and Chemicals
