Are you looking for a rewarding job where you can make a difference every day? Geelong Lutheran College is seeking a Groundsperson to join our Facilities team. The Groundsperson is primary responsible for the presentation and upkeep of GLC to ensure a high standard of presentation of the College facilities. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Groundsperson will assist in implementing and delivery best practice of the facilities management processes and procedures and work collaborative with the facilities team and members of the College community.
Responsibilities:
- Undertaking general gardening duties as required including identification and treatment of weeds, pests and diseases, planting trees, shrubs, and annuals, stripping and replanting garden beds, feeding and fertilisation of plants.
- Line-marking of ovals when required.
- Assist with the day-to-day planning and completion of ad hoc requests and schedule grounds tasks working alongside the Facilities team.
- Mixing, decanting, and spraying chemicals including pesticides, herbicides, and fuel.
- Use of a range of horticultural equipment including: a blower, hedger, whipper snipper and rid on mower etc.
- Assist with the processes, procedures, and compliance of essential services.
- Assist with planning and completion of required repairs
- In conjunction with the Facilities Manager, develop, schedule, and implement preventative maintenance programs for grounds.
- Identify and advise of opportunities for continuous improvement, productivity gains and efficiencies.
