We are now offering an exciting accounting opportunity, based at our Adelaide CBD office, to be part of our great Australian story.
About the role:
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Group Accountant will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting practices for the group, providing information and support to our farm managers, management and shareholders.
Duties include:
- Profit and loss preparation, reporting and analysis.
- Budget and expenditure preparation, analysis and control.
- Compilation and analysis of financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts and document business transactions.
- Statutory activities including preparation of activity statements and tax returns.
- Assisting farm managers and the operations manager with asset and major expenditure procurement.
- Ad-hoc reporting, analysis and assistance with audit requirements
- Assisting with accounts payable and receivable and support general administration as needed.
About you:
- 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role
- A tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or similar, with professional membership desirable.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience using accounting and reporting systems. Working knowledge of SAGE 300 and/or MS Power BI will be advantageous.
- The proven ability to build relationships with a range of stakeholders including operational (farm) managers, suppliers and Adelaide Office colleagues.
- Accuracy and diligence with a focus on producing high-quality work
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Good time management skills, ensuring deadlines are met and priorities set
- Ability to travel intra and interstate, in remote and regional areas. You must hold a valid driver’s license.
- A knowledge of the agricultural industry (desirable)
