Reporting to the Chief People Officer, this role has prime responsibility to execute the Health, Safety and Wellbeing strategy and operational plans in Epworth healthcare group to ensure that staff, patients, volunteers, suppliers, contractors, visiting medical officers and visitors are kept from harm.

Supporting executive and senior leadership to drive a culture of accountability for safety, your management and leadership of a team across multi-sites, will support ongoing improvement and implementation of strategic and operational health, Safety and well-being plans aligned with key risks and opportunities throughout Epworth.

You will make an impact by:

  • Developing and implementing Health, Safety and Wellbeing plans and programs of work across Epworth, in line with Enterprise and Divisional risk management action plans, legislative and industry requirements.
  • Building effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, to ensure the collaboration of Health, Safety and Wellbeing with the diverse stakeholder audience within the business.
  • Ensuring legislative requirements are maintained in relation to the Workplace Injury, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013
  • Oversee the management and monitoring of the early intervention program and workers compensation premium.
  • Reviewing and reporting on progress of the Health, Safety and Wellbeing strategy and plan.

You will be qualified/ experienced in the following:

  • Extensive experience in a strategic Health and Safety senior leadership position
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, analysis and implementation in a complex and changing environment.
  • Extensive experience in Health, Safety and Wellbeing including Workers Compensation and Injury Management within a complex multi-site environment
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, regulations and relevant standards
  • Ability to provide high level strategic and operational advice to operational and strategic leaders
  • Strong relevant strategic experience within a complex, service-oriented organisation
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Tertiary qualifications in Health and Safety or related field
