About the role…
This newly created role will be reporting to the Enterprise Architect Lead. The Group Solutions Architect is responsible for designing and implementing solutions to complex technical problems across our businesses.
You will be seen as the 2IC in the architecture team as it is built out. This role is hands-on and will be working across our Group in our shared services function, so your effective communication skills, big picture thinking, ability to challenge status quo, ability to look at things through multiple lens and an innovative mindset will be essential for your success.
You will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between business needs and technological solutions. You will collaborate with Product Owners and Business Stakeholders to understand their requirements and effectively communicate these needs to the Technology team. Your expertise will be pivotal in advising on the use of technology-based solutions, pushing business leaders to adopt the best-fit technology solutions that align with Guild business unit strategies and Technology strategy.
Additionally, you will be responsible for designing technical solutions, reviewing cost estimates, and developing implementation plans that encompass all systems, third parties, and staff involved. Working within the Digital, Data, and Architecture team, you will help establish an architectural runway across various domains such as Application, Digital, Security, and Data. You will also support the Technology Solutions and Architecture Lead, acting as a deputy as needed, and assist in governing the architecture for the Group by facilitating the Architecture Review Board and maintaining architectural landscape and roadmap artifacts. Moreover, you will stay abreast of industry trends to identify opportunities for strategic improvement of the platforms.
Experience and skill…
- Architecture framework qualifications and/or relevant experience. TOGAF or similar
- Extensive Solution Architecture experience, in both large and small teams
- Background and qualifications in Systems Engineering, Software Development, and/or Business Analysis
- Extensive visualization modelling experience (such as UML, ArchiMate, or equivalent)
- Insight and experience for all, with expert competency in at least two, of these domains:
- Microsoft M365 and Power Platform
- Digital channels
- User experience
- API design
- Integration
- Reporting and Analytics
- BPM
- Document and Workflow Management
- Security
- DevOps, and
- Insurance and Superannuation domain experience is a bonus
