Form of workThe part time Gym Attendant is responsible for the general supervision of designated Defence gymnasiums during mandated hours of operation. The Gym Attendant welcomes entitled members and works collaboratively with Defence Physical Training Instructors (PTIs) to give each member a safe, productive and enjoyable experience.

The Role:
- Conduct pre-opening and closing duties
- Welcome and provide new members or visitors with an overview of the facility
- Manage access to facilities by entitled members
- Book equipment and facilities on behalf of entitled members
- Maintain the weights and cardio areas ensuring these areas are kept neat
- After use inflate, air or dry gym equipment
- Remove unserviceable equipment from use, coordinate repair
- Maintain a service/repair log register
Education and Qualifications:
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate (including CPR)
- Suitability for Defence security clearance (Australian Citizenship Mandatory)
Experience:
- Relevant certificate or current study in this field (preferred)
- Exposure to a similar working environment
- Positive attitude
- Friendly and helpful customer service experience
