Responsibilities
- What You'll Do:
- The H-60 Sustainment Engineer will recommend changes of various tasks related to the sustainment, improvement, support, and maintenance of aircraft weapon systems and related support equipment. This position will provide in-country USN MH-60R aircraft through Life Support as an FMS H-60 Sustainment Engineer for the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) in Nowra, Australia. The Sustainment Engineer will work in support of FMS partnerships with US government, Commonwealth of Australia (CoA), and domestic and international Industry partners in all engineering and logistic activities related to the MH-60R platform.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Sustainment Engineer serves as engineering and logistics liaison for NAVAIR Command, USN Fleet Support Team (FST), and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program to provide support to the RAN on the MH-60R helicopter, its support equipment, and spares support.
- May serve as the in-country engineering site lead for monitoring Contractor Depot Level maintenance and Contractor installed modifications to ensure quality in accordance with applicable Integrated Maintenance Program (IMP) Specifications, Technical Directives (TDs), and other authorized technical data.
- Provide management and overall coordination between the RAN, Contractors, and USN for all aspects of the RAN MH-60R Through Life Support efforts to include, but not limited to, management, technical, and financial elements.
- Work closely with the Fleet Support Team (FST), USN and RAN logistics and program management teams to discuss cost, schedule, parts/tooling, and technical performance of contractor and vendors.
- Subject Matter Expert on rotor systems, aircraft systems, aircraft structures, and drives. Expert in life cycle engineering and logistical support associated with Engineering Change Proposals (ECP’s) and Technical Directives (TDs) of the MH-60R helicopter.
- Monitor all levels of scheduled and un-scheduled aircraft repairs, modifications, and maintenance of the RAN MH-60R helicopter.
- May conduct basic and applied research to evaluate adaptability of materials and equipment to aircraft design and manufacture. May recommend improvements in aircraft system(s), support equipment, maintenance procedures, and operational procedures.
- Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree plus eight (8) years in concentrated area or,
- At least ten (10) years of technical and structural engineering experience on H-60 helicopter aircraft structure repairs and system troubleshooting.
- Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Sustainment Engineering support/maintenance.
- Technical expertise in aircraft structural repairs and system troubleshooting.
- Other Requirements:
- Active DoD Secret clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data system.
- US Passport for OCONUS travel requirements.
- Desired Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Experience with Joint Discrepancy Reporting System (JDRS).
- Experience with Workload Management System (WMS).
- Experience with Joint Engineering Data Management Information and Control System (JEDMICS).
- Experience with Haystack and similar logistics management systems.
