An exciting opportunity exists at Geelong Hand Therapy for an occupational therapist or physiotherapist to join our dynamic team on either a full or part time basis – name your hours! A minimum of 12 months Hand Therapy experience is preferred however all applicants will be considered.
Geelong Hand Therapy has been the region's only dedicated Hand Therapy service for the last 25 years. We currently have 5 Hand Therapists in our team who work cohesively together from a central location (with a view to re-open satellite clinics offsite in the near future). Our team is focused on providing exceptional customer service and is driven to ensuring the best possible patient outcomes with the most up to date evidence-based practice.
Based on your level of experience, a comprehensive mentoring and structured training program will be provided to support your growth and development. With an open-door policy, you will always feel supported in your role.
The Role:
This role involves working with a dedicated and supportive team to assess and treat patients with a full variety of upper limb injuries and conditions (caseload dependent on experience). Conditions include trauma, post-operative rehabilitation, sports injuries, congenital conditions, chronic degenerative conditions, workplace injuries motor vehicle accidents. The successful applicant would:
- Have a passion for Hand Therapy
- Have a willingness to learn to develop new skills and knowledge
- Have excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Be able to work independently while also understanding when to ask for guidance if necessary
- Liaise confidently with our local referrers (GP’s and Plastic/Orthopaedic Surgeons)

Essential:
- Qualification in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy
- Current registration with AHPRA
- Current Working With Children’s Check
- Current Police Check
Preferred:
- Associate member with the AHTA or AHT credential
- 12 months minimum experience working in Hand Therapy
