Job description

You will be working in our Hatchery to breed and care for prawns. Our Hatchery is our breeding facility where our prawns grow. You will help to ensure the optimal health and growth of our Australian black tiger prawns to assist us in delivering a high-quality, healthy, and sustainable product to our consumers.

Proserpine: Located on our prawn farm halfway between Airlie Beach and Bowen, you’ll work in a stunning area. And you’ll be working on a flexible roster so you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy everything the Whitsundays have to offer!

We have two casual positions, and two max term positions available.

What does your week look like?

Feeding prawns: Routine feeding of our prawns.

Prawn Health duties: Routine overview and sampling of Prawn Health. Identify, diagnose, escalate and problem solve all prawn health issues that arise in a timely manner.

Checking water quality: Water quality sampling and testing.

Disinfection of equipment: Ensure all Health equipment and instruments are cleaned and calibrated to maximise quality, accuracy, and performance.

General animal husbandry: Routine overview of animal husbandry and health, escalating potential issues in a timely manner.
