The Locals Alice Springs is looking for a Head Barista responsible for the day-to-day coffee service, quality control of coffee products, monitoring and addressing coffee-related costs. The Head Barista is also responsible for maintaining retail stock of coffee, and coffee-related equipment.
The Head Barista is actively keeping up to date with industry trends and developments within the world of coffee, with an attitude of learning. They are the primary source of training and coaching for the team on all coffee-related things.
The Head Barista we are looking for is constantly looking for ways to improve the method of communicating and sharing with customers, including distilling the information. The scope is open for the Head Barista to facilitate this through various methods including but not limited to running workshops and training sessions, internal group messages, on-the-job training, and working with the venue manager.
The Head Barista serves as a leader for the team and sets an example for the team culture. They should have a desire to hone their leadership skills to ensure they are getting the best out of their team.

General Duties
- Prepare and serve all bar products to meet standards of quality and wait times
- Dial-in and setup sections and setup daily recipes and new coffees
- Assist front of house team with service including but not limited to speaking to customers, taking orders, clearing and wiping down tables, running drinks & food when necessary, washing cups and dishes
- Prep ingredients and restock sections for the next day
- Order stock to ensure smooth operation of the venues from week to week
- Cleaning and closing of sections at the end of the day
