The Marina Mindarie, is home to multiple venues including The Boat, Indian Ocean Brewing Company, Pavilion Function Center, Cabana Pool Bar & Lifeboat. Job tasks and responsibilities
Reporting to the Executive Chef & the Food & Beverage Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of this extremely busy kitchen. You will have a combination of skills that encompass attention to detail as well as a creative mind to assist with menu development and implementation. You will help create menus, ensure good stock control, ensure wastage is kept to an absolute minimum, maintain strict adherence to all health and safety requirements, and oversee the smooth running of service; delivering quality meals in a timely and organized manner. Staff productivity is to be maximized, giving clear direction to the rest of the kitchen team through hands on leadership.
We are seeking a driven professional that is enthusiastic, energetic and self-motivated.
Skills and experience
- You are a qualified chef with at least 3 years in a similar role.
- You are reliable and flexible with strong leadership, management and organisational skills.
- You have experience in fast-paced, high volume ala carte venues.
- Ability to work under pressure and unsupervised.
- You have an in-depth knowledge of food safety and workplace OSH.
- You acknowledge that your work is a key part of the food and beverage team that delivers memorable food and beverage experiences across the restaurant, functions, bar and events.
- Overall responsibility of the success of the kitchen.
