Smokey Joe’s Café, at Ramada Hervey Bay, is seeking:
- An experienced, qualified, hands-on Head Chef who can effectively lead and mentor our small team
- An experienced, casual Cook/Chef
We are open for breakfast and dinner, 7 days a week and cater for in-house guests, locals, and tourists.
Our Head Chef:
You will be responsible for all aspects of the restaurant’s operation and have the ability to ensure the consistent provision of high quality, creative, tasty food and beverages, and excellent customer service, in a timely manner.
Your skills, experience & abilities:
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position
Professional presentation
Friendly, approachable manner
Strong leadership & time-management skills
Ability to ensure a calm, smooth food service
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Menu planning, costing and rostering experience
Ability to meet set budgets and minimise wastage
Computer skills
Ability to ensure hygiene, workplace health & safety and all other legislative requirements are met
Initially, the position will be casual, but will change to a permanent, salaried position upon successful completion of your probationary period.
Our Casual Chef:
You will be required to work nights, weekends and one/two breakfast shifts per week, and have the availability to cover additional breakfast shifts when staff are on leave.
