Mexicali Bar y Taqueria is a lively restaurant located in beautiful Bulimba with a reputation for quality modern Mexican food, drinks and service.
About you:
You're already a Head Chef, or an experienced Sous Chef looking to step up. You'll have a passion for delivering fresh and delicious food to our guests and, ideally, extensive experience with Mexican cuisine. We’re looking for the following skills and attributes in the successful applicant:
- A passion for Mexican food
- At least 4 years experience as a Chef
- Team-focused, with at least 2 years experience in a leadership role with your previous kitchen team(s)
- Experience working in fast-paced and high-volume kitchens
- Advanced Food Safety and Compliance experience (qualifications would be advantageous)
- Computer savvy (i.e. Utilising existing set up company systems)
- Reliable and trustworthy
- Meticulous approach to cooking and perfecting dishes
- Proactive approach to keeping the kitchen and kitchen areas organised and clean at all times.
- Great time management skills and work ethic
- Experience with rostering, ordering, stock control, food costing and liaising with suppliers
- A positive, collaborative approach to work and the rest of the team
- Ability to create new dishes for our menu
- Impeccable health and hygiene standards
- Availability to work a full-time roster

Please note: This is a full-time salary position and will require 40 hours per week, including nights and weekends.
