About Us:
The Mansfield Hotel is in the heart of the Victorian High County approximately 2.5 hours from Melbourne CBD located close to Mount Buller, Lake Eildon, hiking, mountain bike riding, fishing and camping. It is a family owned venue with a strong focus on a great culture for it’s employees. We aim to exceed guest expectations by providing high quality service and food with a focus on local produce.
The restaurant seats 150 inside, with an additional 150 seats in the outdoor courtyard. There are two function rooms, a bar and accommodation available.
We are open for lunch and dinner 7 days per week and run events in our additional rooms.

About the Role:
The hotel is currently looking for a Head Chef to join the leadership teamwho is passionate and knowledgeable when it comes to fresh seasonal & local produce.
In this role, you will support management with all aspects of the kitchen, working closely with the hotel owners and the kitchen team to ensure a quality product and a superior guest experience.
As we are looking for someone to start immediately, we are able to offer hotel accommodation to support a transition into Mansfield.

Your duties will include:
- Leading a great team of chefs in a busy kitchen
- Mentoring, nurturing and developing apprentices
- Ensuring quality of food across the venue for regular service and functions.
- Managing food costs and meeting budgets.
- Following Food Safety and OH&S.
- Assisting with menu development and designing specials for the venue.
- Monitoring the maintenance of stock to reduce wastage.
- Working closely with the bistro and bar managers to design menus for functions.
- Determining production schedules and staff requirements necessary to ensure timely delivery of service.
Skills and Experience:
- Unrestricted working rights in Australia.
- Minimum of one year's experience in a similar role
- Possess precision plating skills.
- Strong attention and an eye for detail.
- Passion for gastronomy and contemporary cuisine
- A passionate team player with a personable nature.
- The ability to remain calm and can work well under pressure.
