One of Australia's most established hospitality groups, Trader House, is looking for a Head Chef for Builders Arms Hotel - to lead the team and stay at the forefront of Melbourne’s pub and dining landscape.
Builders Arms Hotel is an institution located on iconic Gertrude Street, Fitzroy. Close to public transport, and an easy walk from the city, you couldn't ask for a better location. Known for its charming front bar, friendly atmosphere, and long, sunlit afternoons. It’s a place for all occasions – from a great pub meal at the counter or a long lunch in the Bistro, to a kerb-site catch up with friends and special celebrations in the private dining spaces.
Built in 1853, Builders Arms has been part of the vibrant Fitzroy dining scene since the very beginning. Generations of chefs, bartenders and waiters amongst many more have graced the halls of our venue and we are seeking a Head Chef to lead the team and continue evolve the business into the next phase.
About the role:
This is an opportunity for an experienced, passionate and career-focused chef with strong leadership and creative flair. Experience in running a high-volume, fast-paced, quality-focused restaurant of a similar calibre will be essential. With progress comes change, and with it, an exciting opportunity for a talented and experienced chef to oversee the operations of a landmark business. Ability to manage oneself and lead a team is imperative.
We remain an industry leader through building excellent supplier relationships, accessing the best and freshest produce, and constantly developing our recipes. We offer a menu with pub staples, and regularly-changing seasonal dishes that are elevated, simple and produce-driven.
