The reason for this role:
The Head of Community Engagement will lead the Stakeholder and Community Engagement group to provide engagement services to Goldwind Australia projects. The role will also support Goldwind management on matters relating to community and stakeholder engagement.
What you will be doing?
- Lead and coordinate Goldwind engagement staff and activities.
- Develop, improve and apply engagement processes.
- Proactively liaise with relevant managers across internal departments to ensure engagement activities are planned, budgeted and fulfilled throughout the entire project lifecycle.
- Support and liaise with Goldwind management to provide strategic engagement advice.
- Manage and approve media communications at a local level for Goldwind projects.
- Liaise with the Marketing and ESG Managers on wider media, political and First Nations engagement.
- Support the wider Goldwind team in the implementation of Community and stakeholder engagement requirements across a portfolio of energy projects.
- Plan and apply high quality Community Engagement techniques to projects over all stages of project lifespan required, from concept stage through to green field, mid and late-stage development, construction and operations.
- Competently and positively represent Goldwind to local communities and stakeholders, providing information and liaising with the local communities.
- To assist in establishing and maintaining and acceptable social license to operate Goldwind.
- projects and reduce the risk of Community dissatisfaction.
What does your background look like?
- Degree qualification in a relevant discipline such as Communications, Media, Science or Engineering.
- Previous experience in a similar or same position.
- A strong understanding of renewable energy developments
- 5+ years’ experience in the wind industry or Community Engagement for infrastructure.
- Experience of implementing Community Engagement strategies, liaising with local communities and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of effective techniques of engaging with rural communities and an understanding of the associated challenges.
- Personnel management experience.
- Ability to work alongside a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise accordingly.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional approach to community relations.
- Good knowledge of MS Office, in particular MS Word and Excel.
- Occasional travel to project sites may be required.
