Wests Tigers has been competing as a professional rugby league team in the NRL Competition since the 2000 season, and achieved its maiden premiership in 2005. The organisation was originally formed as a joint venture between Balmain Tigers and Wests Magpies in 1999. Wests Tigers’ headquarters, comprising of a training facility and administration offices, are located in the brand new state-of-the-art Zurich Centre at Concord Oval.

About the Role:
Reporting into the Chief Commerical Officer and managing four direct reports, the successful candidate in this role will lead the combined areas of Membership, Merchandise and Ticketing. In addition, they will be responsible to drive increased membership revenue, volume and profitability through executing a membership growth strategy that focuses on member acquisition, engagement, service and retention. Finally, they will have responsibility to plan, lead, organise and control all aspects of Merchandise with maximum profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Membership
- Develop market leading membership strategies allowing WT to achieve goals & budgets.
- Assist with the preparation of membership budgets.
- Assist with the pricing of memberships.
- Oversee the ideation & implementation of membership events.
- Leading the membership team in line with professional development, WIP’s etc.
- Point of contact for all third-party membership parties e.g. fulfillment, ticketing etc.
- Continual review & improvement of Wests Tigers Memberships
- To ensure agreed expenditure and activities are delivered within approved budget and delegated authorities – or as otherwise approved.
Merchandise
- Develop market leading merchandise strategies allowing WT to achieve goals & budgets.
- Point of contact for all merchandise suppliers.
- Identifying new merchandise offering’s that will provide additional revenue streams.
- Overseeing game day merchandise strategies (both Home & Away games).
- Assisting the merchandise manager with all football & retail merchandise requests.
Ticketing
- Enact sales & promotion as appropriate to exceed game day sales/budgets.
- Reviewing game day ticketing to drive the greatest commercial outcome.
- Work in collaboration with the Chief Commercial Officer & the Chief Financial officer in setting ticketing prices at all Wests Tigers Stadia.
Key Requirements:
Education
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
Minimum Experience
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in fundraising, ideally in Sport and/or a Charity, or experience in Government.
- Ability to communicate and present effectively to individuals and groups at all levels and ages.
- Active affiliation and capacity to build networks with organisations and drive ongoing community involvement.
Technical Competencies
- Sound Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills
- Effective presentation skills.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Effective organisational, planning and time management skills.
- Experience using Salesforce preferred.
Other Key Requirements
- Must be legally entitled to work in Australia.
- An ability to attend work events outside of ordinary office hours.
- Must be available for international travel if required.
- Valid Australian Passport and Valid Australian Driver’s Licence.
- Clean Police History.
