We are working with a large corporate Australian firm to hire a new leader in the data space. The position will take ownership of everything data, from operational reporting to analytics and being the point of contact for the business executives to interface with the data function. Using data to drive decisions is a key focus for the organisation in 2025, this role is key to developing and implementing the strategy for the data function to better serve the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Promoting the business value of Data as an enabler to key stakeholders across the business.
- Product development, standards, methodologies and strategic sourcing, while continually seeking & challenging ways of thinking about data.
- Act as the primary authority on all matters related to data and analytics within the organisation
- Enhance the culture of collaboration and knowledge-sharing within the data team
- Leading the ‘next phase’ of investment and delivery into the data function
- A background in data, someone who understands the challenges large organisations face and sees the opportunity ahead. You will have been working in data for a significant period & will have operated at a similar level to this position for several years.
- A ‘transformation’ mindset, we are looking for someone to come and drive change, not just manage a function.
- Demonstrated experience in building and implementing IT & data strategy at an enterprise level.
- Experience leading diverse data teams including governance, scientists, engineers, analysts and more.
- A strong ability to manage up, down and across a peer group
- Demonstrated commercial acumen, particularly in writing business cases and estimating/ delivering ROI.
- Strong experience of vendor selection & vendor management
