About Us:
At Longreach State High School, we are committed to delivering the best curriculum to our students in an inclusive and supportive manner. We seek to build engagement, confidence and resilience in our students. We develop caring relationships, we have high expectations and we build for success.
Our school offers a variety of pathways to further education or to work and seeks to expand our relationships with the business community. Big enough for opportunities; small enough to care. Our mission is to empower students to break the limitations, and build the opportunities for their successful future.
The values we emphasise with our students are integrity, ownership, understanding and safety. The agreed values our teachers hold are to be: prepared, clear, consistent, responsible and respectful.
Our motto is "Growing together, going the distance, soaring to success". This motto and the new school logo are based on the family of brolgas who visit our school every year. They come as a family who stick together and look after each other. They are beautiful and elegant birds who are not frightened of standing up tall and proud, looking challenges in the eye. When they are preparing to take flight, they can be ungainly but once they are in the air, they are purposeful, streamlined and heading towards a goal.
