Job description

The Head of Gaming & Esports is responsible for strategically leveraging opportunities to cement Red Bull as the leading Energy Drink brand in Gaming and eSports in Australia. Red Bull's mission is to build the leading global beverage and media brand that gives wings to people and ideas. The Head of Gaming is responsible for supporting and developing this vision with an Australian strategy delivery positive brand association and driving brand and can love through a rich marketing and sales mix of activity.

  • MANAGE 360 GAMING MARKETING PLAN

Overall responsibility for the Red Bull Australian Gaming & Esports program, developing & delivering successful gaming marketing plans in line with sports marketing & business objectives with cross functional team members, managing one full-time direct report fostering their development, and maintaining a strong talent pipeline.

  • LEAD MAJOR GAMING EVENTS PROGRAM

The position requires the creation of innovative & unique scalable gaming events, developing strategic concepts for different consumer groups, and ensuring premium event experiences that align with Red Bull's brand. Acquiring commercial partnerships and maximizing the local impact of Red Bull events in Australia through global partnerships.

  • MANAGE BRANDED GAMING PLAYER PORTFOLIO

The role involves creating and managing a portfolio of professional branded gamers and opinion leaders who align with Red Bull's brand values. Responsibilities include identifying and selecting players, setting annual targets, developing marketing plans, leveraging impact in media and content, and collaborating to create projects and marketing activity.

  • LEAD CROSS FUNCTIONAL GAMING MARKETING AND SALES CAMPAIGNS

Maximise gaming 360 impact across marketing and sales mix with a cross-functional team that create, develop and implement gaming-related in-store & digital opportunities that enhance trade-marketing activations for customers and support new business initiatives.

  • CREATE AND IMPLEMENT INNOVATIVE ANNUAL GAMING BUSINESS PLAN

Build & implement an innovative annual business plan that aligns with local gaming audience trends to meet marketing objectives & in harmony with global guidelines. The focus is on the Australian gaming community, with a view to maximize consumer impact using a holistic marketing and sales approach with the Media Network & Brand departments.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 4 years experience in the gaming marketing industry
  • Extensive knowledge of Australian gaming and Esports landscape
  • Experience in acquiring & strengthening commercial partnerships
  • Experience working cross functionally & leading major events & project teams
  • Experience in managing professional gamers / talent to leverage ROI & meet business objectives.
  • Travel 20-30%
