In this 12 month contract Reporting to the General Manager – Ancillary Partnerships & Provider Operations, this role will bring together and lead a range of operational functions for the HealthCare Management team. This includes HCM projects, operations, systems and transformation resources, as well as building out a new process improvement function.
As a member of the Ancillary Partnerships & Provider Operations Leadership Team, the Head ofOperational Excellence will provide leadership, role modelling and broader contribution to support the team’s objectives and ambitions.
How will I help?
- Lead a high performing team to have a reputation for innovation, collaboration and a passion for excellence in everything they do.
- Bring together and lead a range of operational functions including systems, administrative and project management resources.
- Develop a roadmap to align these with the current objectives of the HCM team and broader HI business.
- Lead the build out a new process improvement function, which will focus on documenting, simplifying and optimising complex processes
- Ensure that the solutions it proposes are pragmatic and actionable, with clear identification of the root cause or issue, and assignment of tasks across the team(s) to remediate it.
- Develop relationships across the broader Health Insurance (HI) business including those who perform similar functions, to ensure best practice is shared and avoid the duplication of effort.

Experience:
- A demonstrated leader of larger teams with a pragmatic, approachable and supportive coaching style.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications with significant experience in leading operational functions. Specific experience in process improvement and Private Health is highly desired.
- Be comfortable leading a large team day-to-day, while at the same time developing and implementing a transformation plan to align with the business’s future ambitions.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas simply and with all levels of the organisation, as well as build relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to implement Strategy with an ability to connect across the business and broader health industry to reduce duplication of effort and optimise outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing system improvements and efficient effective platforms to reduce manual process allowing for greater consistency with outcomes.
