Commencing term 1, 2025 

Methodist Ladies’ College, Claremont is a vibrant boarding and day school for girls that has been offering exceptional education for more than a century. The Head of HaSS as a senior leadership position, will lead the strategic direction of the HaSS Department and map and drive the MLC Learning Framework across all HaSS courses. It will build and guide a committed team of teaching professionals who strive for continuous improvement, and it will lead collaboration with other disciplines in cross curriculum planning and projects.     

To be successful you will demonstrate: 

  • Advanced tertiary qualifications ideally at Masters level and eligibility for TRBWA registration
  • Extensive experience teaching years 7-12 in a related  HaSS  specialty area
  • Proven experience in managing and leading a positive and innovative academic teaching team
  • Well developed people management, development, coaching and mentoring capabilities
  • Ability to think strategically, identify improvement opportunities and to implement the Melbourne Metrics frameworks
  • Highly developed information, communication and technology skills
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development for self and colleagues
  • A commitment to the ethos of the College
  • Strong advocacy for all girls' education and the promotion of all girls learning environments
