Head Of Humanities Secondary 2025

The School is seeking a suitably qualified, enthusiastic and innovative Head of Humanities to join our School.

This ongoing appointment is 1.0 FTE commencing in 2025.

This position has responsibility for leading a team of dynamic teachers to deliver the School’s Humanities programme from Years 7 to 12 and guide students to achieve excellent results in Humanities.

Previous leadership experience of a Humanities Department, including development and implementation of the Humanities Curriculum across various Humanities contexts, is desirable.

Essential Criteria

• Tertiary qualifications for teaching Humanities subjects
• Ability to lead the development and implementation of the Humanities Curriculum
• Previous experience teaching Humanities for Years 7 to 12
• Previous ATAR teaching experience
• High pedagogical standards
• Exceptional quality pastoral care
• Enthusiasm in developing young people
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate positive relationships with all stakeholders
• Growth mindset and can-do attitude
• Committed and collaborative team player
• Proficiency in utilising ICT in a classroom environment

Desirable Selection Criteria

• Previous experience as a Teacher in Charge or Head of Department
