About the role:
This is a rare opportunity to join an industry leading Australian and global manufacturer. This is a hands-on role, taking overall responsibility for managing the entire application & technology portfolio for the region, leading the approach for portfolio, program, and project management. You will also work closely with RWC business leaders, executives, and Group IT resources to understand operational needs and translate these needs into cost-effective, high quality IT solutions. You will have the Leadership skills necessary to translate the IT vision and our business strategy into an executable plan, working with local and group resources, you will have a track record of leveraging IT platforms (specifically our global SAP instance), collaborating across business units and geographies, while having the drive and influencing skills to lead the required changes. To be successful you will be able to build a prioritised project portfolio with business cases and engage both internal and external resources to implement the portfolio.
Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Information Systems, we are looking for someone who will bring experience as well as passion to this role. Our sites in Asia Pacific are in most capital cities of Australia, but we are also located in China, Korea and New Zealand. You will be responsible for building a strong IT platform and working in cross functional teams across the business. At RWC, we operate as one global team, so you will be part of a broader group of IT professionals located in the UK and USA. Importantly you will enjoy being innovative and thinking outside the box and be comfortable to respectfully challenge the norm.
What you will do:
- Work with the EVP of information systems, the APAC leadership team, and RWC group colleagues, to set the application strategy for the region.
- Provide people leadership including the development and mentoring of existing IT staff to build a continuous improvement and business-oriented mindset.
- Design, develop, and structure the entire applications portfolio across, the full applications lifecycle.
- Act as the Head of IT for the region.
- In conjunction and collaboration with the wider organization, prioritise projects and deploy resources for the highest return.
- Lead multiple, multi-year programs to implement the desired technology solutions, on-time and with the corresponding organisational benefits.
- Lead a multi-talented IT team ensuring the successful delivery of the program’s goals whilst working with key stakeholders across all segments of the organization.
- Ensure timely reporting and updates are provided to key stakeholders on all facets of the projects underway.
- Provide technical and functional leadership whilst developing & maintaining the program plan in co-ordination with the peers and other key stakeholders.
- Manage relationships with external vendors who are providing resources and services to the region.
About you:

- Have a proven track record of leading sizeable systems implementations in large businesses with clear evidence of successful outcomes.
- Bring a background implementing enterprise systems – experience delivering several significant projects; ERP, CRM, HRIS, MES etc. will be preferred.
- Show demonstrable evidence of ability to create strong and effective teams and operate in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural landscape.
- Be a self-motivated leader and team player, able to work in a matrix environment with excellent oral and written skills & the aptitude to communicate in an organized and concise manner.
- Preferred degree level qualified, in either STEM or Business.
- 5 years + of IT General Management experience.
- Have some experience of the manufacturing and distributions sectors.
- Able to communicate to different levels of staff within the organization.
- Be a self-motivated problem solver.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- You will need a willingness to travel to different sites within the Asiapacific region.
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Able to demonstrate a high degree of flexibility including shift and out of hours working.
- Have the ability to work as part of a team, as well as individually.
- Be able to manage and prioritize tasks and time efficiently.
- Be able to roll your sleeves up to get the job done.
- Have a proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
- Have the self-motivation with the ability to keep many projects on schedule and demonstrate excellent teamwork and decision-making skills.
