About the Role:
As a Head of Department - Curriculum you will focus on Differentiation on our secondary campus, you will be an integral part of our secondary teaching team, leading the delivery of a vibrant curriculum to our students and possessing a strong knowledge of content and pedagogy in this area. You will specialise in the ability to differentiate the curriculum to the diverse learning needs of our student cohort, particularly in the area of inclusive education and students with additional support needs.
You will possess a passion for promoting and embedding an inclusive culture and practices within the school community, ensuring equity and excellence, with a strong desire to engage, connect and enhance learning outcomes for students with disability.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to;
* Work with, and build teachers' capability in using data to provide effective differentiated instruction to a diverse student cohort
* Implement research based pedagogical practices to increase student engagement
* Lead the development and implementation of high quality of teaching and adjustments for students with disability in accordance with related legislation and policies
* Provide high quality advice to the school leadership team, classroom teachers and other school staff to develop, plan and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with disability.
* Provide, support and/or coordinate case management for students who require extensive or substantial adjustments (including EALD students)
* In conjunction with the Deputy Principal, Inclusive Education develop, coordinate and implement targeted teaching intervention in the areas of Literacy and Numeracy in response to student data to support every student succeeding

* Demonstrated teaching competence and capacity to provide curriculum leadership, particularly in the area of special education leading to the achievement of quality learning outcomes for all students.
* Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and capacity to develop and sustain productive relationships within and beyond the school community.
* Demonstrated capacity to use your strong analytical skills to contribute to educational outcomes at the school level, with particular reference to differentiated and targeted teaching interventions.
* Capacity for leading and managing change within the school environment and school community.
