Drive our organisation's learning strategies and programs to new heights of capability, performance and engagement. In this role, you will report to our Chief People & Culture Officer and work collaboratively across our extensive network to invest and focus on the capability of our people. In this role, you will lead the development and implementation of high-quality learning and development programs to support our Goodstarter's growth, learning and career pathways. These programs will elevate Goodstart's reputation as a leader in professional learning within the early childhood education and care sector and as an employer of choice.
Your Impact:
Strategic Leadership
- Drive the development and review of Enterprise Learning & Development Strategy (ELDS), ensuring alignment with broader organisational objectives. Lead a diverse team overseeing professional learning, career pathways, and organisational development, shaping the direction and culture of our organisation
Partnership Cultivation
- Forge strategic partnerships with external stakeholders, departments, and providers to enhance career pathways programs and increase employee engagement. Use these alliances to position Goodstart as a leader in professional learning within the early childhood education and care sector
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships both internally and externally, leveraging these connections to deliver innovative learning and development solutions. Work closely with senior stakeholders to align learning programs with key business outcomes and metrics, ensuring cross-departmental orchestration and effective utilisation of internal resources
Data-Driven Decision-Making
- Utilise the latest research, evaluation data, and insights to inform the development of innovative learning and organisational development strategies. Apply data and analytics to evaluate and adjust plans, ensuring that programs and action planning remain aligned with industry standards, drive employee engagement and employee experience, and organisational objectives.
Performance Impact Measurement
- Measure and report on the impact of capability initiatives and programs of work, providing valuable insights to inform future directions. Identify opportunities for alignment with stakeholders to maximize performance impact and drive continuous improvement
Cultural Transformation
- Enable a culture of continuous improvement through observation, feedback, coaching, and learning. Champion best practices in professional learning, fostering a dynamic environment where employees can grow and thrive professionally and employees are highly capable and engaged.

You'll bring to the table:
Essential
- Tertiary qualification/s in education/ learning and development
- Extensive experience leading learning and development programs in a large, complex organisation
- Experience in leading teams and developing close, collaborative partnerships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Highly developed research, analytical and problem-solving skills
Highly Desirable
- Experience working in the education or early childhood education and care sector
- Experience developing, implementing and evaluating learning programs across a distributed network
- Kirkpatrick evaluation certification
