The Role
Leading independent girls’ school, Camberwell Girls Grammar School, presents an opportunity for a Head of Learning Diversity (Secondary School) to join our team on a full-time or part-time basis in 2025. Reporting to the Director of Learning Design and Development, you will be responsible for leading the Secondary SchoolLearning Diversity team with enthusiasm and energy whilst modelling exceptional and evidence-based teaching practices.
You will make an impact by:
- Overseeing and delivering evidence-based interventions for students needing learning support using the Response to Intervention framework, part of an overarching Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTTS) framework;
- Leading a team of Learning Diversity Teachers and Education Support Assistants;
- Teaching timetabled Tier 2 Intervention classes (i.e. Years 7 – 10 Language & Learning classes) and/or providing individual/small group support at VCE;
- Managing the tracking of individual student progress and NCCD processes;
- Building staff capacity through collaborative practices and involvement in the School’s professional learning program;
- Communicating clearly with students, teachers, parents and the wider community;
- Working in multidisciplinary teams with Camberwell Girls Grammar School staff and allied health professionals to support students and their families;
- Contributing to the broader educational conversations around learning and learning difficulties.
To be successful in this role…
As an experienced leader, you possess a strong understanding of how students learn and a deep knowledge of Learning difficulties. You are a practical visionary with the ability to translate research into action and lead a team of specialist staff to provide evidence-based interventions and support to class teachers. Your friendly and professional demeanour is complemented by exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, allowing you to effortlessly foster productive relationships.
Your excellent time management and organisational abilities help you excel in responsive settings. Peers describe you as dedicated, solution-oriented and collaborative.
You will have:
- Tertiary degree with teaching qualification
- Previous experience with Tier 2 interventions
- Completed or be in the process of completing a Post Graduate qualification in Learning Intervention or equivalent
- VIT Registration
