About the opportunity:

Reporting to the National Director – Procurement and Proprietary Products, this role is responsible for the management of our two chemical formulation plants. We have operations in Kwinana, WA and Dandenong, VIC, soon to be relocating to our newly acquired facility in Laverton.  The position will be based out of Laverton (once open) but will require regular travel between our manufacturing facilities and offices across Australia.

Key responsibilities include:

• Management of two large sites with significant volumes and SKU’s, truck movements in a fast paced and seasonal production business  
• Managing safety of all staff on site in a fast-moving environment
• Adherence of all licensing requirements needed to operate 2 large scale pesticide manufacturing sites
• Quality control of production across crop protection, animal health, plant nutrition and adjuvants.
• Ensuring all goods are produced at a competitive cost of goods position.
• Ensure that all production is completed in a timely manner and within the timing demands of the season.
• Management of a large team of FTE’s and casuals.
• Working closely with the Operational and Customer Service teams to ensure the smooth delivery of all products that are made in house.

What we are looking for 

• Significant relevant experience managing large manufacturing facilities and teams, ideally in chemicals/ pesticides and/or liquids
• Knowledge of pesticide manufacturing covering all forms of end use product (EC’s’, SL’s, SC’s) is highly desirable
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the business
• A hands-on management style with the ability to think strategically and solve problems
• Strong organisational and time management abilities
• Strong product costing experience
• Experience managing a capital budget
• The ability to commit to regular travel between our manufacturing facilities and offices across Australia
