About the role
Under the direction of the CEO, the Head of Motoring Events is responsible for the successful planning, execution and continued development of Variety WA's iconic motor fundraising events.
This role will appeal to dynamic event managers with a love of people, travel and making a difference. Overseeing a team of three part time event coordinators, the position requires the highest standards of logistical and operational coordination including route planning, surveying, regional community engagement, on-event support and risk management, ensuring events are delivered safely, on brand and on budget.
The role is for someone who is organised, creative, driven to succeed, with an extensive knowledge regional WA.
Key responsibilities for this position include:
- Operational coordination of all Variety WA Motoring Events.
- Delivery of Motoring Events in line with approved event budgets, KPIs and objectives.
- Route planning and surveys for each event.
- Development and documentation of detailed event management plans.
- Risk Management and compliance with Variety WH&S policies, procedures and safe work practices.
- Liaison with local authorities, landowners, emergency services and municipal representatives.
- Relationship management and ongoing engagement with participants, regional suppliers and supporters.
About you
The successful candidate for this position will have:
- Proven success and experience in event logistics / management, particularly road/Motoring Events.
- Experience with surveys and route planning highly desirable.
- Current WA manual C class Drivers Licence, regional and off-road driving experience essential.
- Ability to work in a team, autonomously and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Reliable and hardworking, with high levels of enthusiasm and energy.
- An entrepreneurial approach with an ability to identify and act upon opportunities.
- A knack for problem-solving skills with capacity for proactive and dynamic thinking.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Current Working with Children’s Check.
- Passion for making a difference to kids and their families.
This position involves weekend, out of office hours and intra/interstate travel.
