The Opportunity:

This is an important and senior role reporting to the CEO in which you will lead and execute the procurement activity of Holcim Australia and New Zealand (HANZ) by developing and maintaining effective standards, systems and processes to ensure the company optimises its procurement outcomes in response to both current and anticipated strategic and operational requirements.

You will maximise procurement realisation and position the procurement function as a key value contributor - providing direction to HANZ regarding setting procurement strategy and targets. The role will also see you initiating and integrating Holcim Global contracts into HANZ's current procurement practices whilst providing positive and effective leadership to the Procurement Team.

Further and detailed responsibilities are found in the Position Description which is available upon request and will include:

  • Providing leadership to the business in identifying, analysing and realising procurement opportunities.
  • Developing annual strategic procurement plans and budgets in conjunction with the Local Executive Committee and Holcim Global framework.
  • Managing, analysing and interpreting HANZ's operational spend data.
  • Coordinating reporting activities for managed spend categories.
  • Tracking savings realised from procurement initiatives.
  • Providing leadership in managing suppliers and supplier performance by evaluating safety, service, costs and quality.
  • Managing tendering, negotiating and contracting processes with suppliers.
  • Personally managing negotiations with key suppliers to finalise procurement arrangements, including preparation of legal documentation with support from in-house legal function.
  • Ensuring national operational compliance with corporate procurement and Holcim group requirements and practices.

About you:

To succeed in this truly exciting role, you will be a leader and a team player - someone who is passionate about driving overall business performance with a growth agenda and with solid, practical skills and knowledge in developing the capability of teams.

Degree level qualifications in Procurement/Supply Chain, Business or Finance related disciplines will be highly regarded and a history of success in senior procurement leadership positions, ideally within related sectors will be essential.

You will have strong analytical and negotiation skills; thrive on engendering solid business relationships and be level headed and down to earth with exemplary standards of ethical conduct and professional judgment with a positive, resilient, curious and goal orientated nature.

This will be complimented by your focus on coaching and developing others and by your clear ability to find ways to put together solutions that add value.

This is an outstanding opportunity to lead an important business function and to develop your career at a senior level in our world leading business.
