This global innovator of complex medical/health care devices, in exponential growth phase, is on the lookout for a Head of Product Development, with a successful track record of collaboratively bringing products from concept through to full commercial launch.

Role and Responsibilities  Facilitate the execution of the overall Product Development Roadmap and the commercialisation of new products  Development of the Product Development Strategy and overall Program Management of a portfolio of projects  Senior leadership of the Product Development team (circa 25 staff), consisting of Systems Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers and Software Engineers  Collaborative design of the Product Development workforce plan and management of the organisational structure, ensuring all members of the Project Team have clear direction, support and an understanding of their roles, responsibilities and deliverables  Define necessary resource requirements (internal/contract/external) to deliver on defined Product Development plans  Foster collaboration with relevant functions across the business to ensure an integrated approach to Product Development (Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Marketing, Clinical/Medical, Finance, Service)  Evaluate and prioritise projects, allocating resources as appropriate  Identify, track and report on Key Performance Metrics and the Product Development budget  Take responsibility for maintenance and evolution of the Product Development process in line with business, quality and regulatory requirements  Encourage and facilitate engagement with the Executive Team and the Board, where required
Your Skills and Experience  10-15 years' experience leading Product Development and a successful track record of collaboratively bringing products from concept through to full commercial launch  Experience leading the development of complex, multidisciplinary projects and teams - essential  Prior experience in Medical Device Development - desirable  Experience in fostering engagement at a commercial level with all aspects of a business at a senior management and board level  Strong program management skills, with an ability to manage key stakeholders and maintain successful relationships  Degree in Engineering or Science  Adopts cross-functional thinking and works collaboratively to achieve objectives  Builds and maintains effective and trusted relationships, shapes strategies, executes strategic plans and creates shared sense of purpose and direction
