ABOUT THE ROLE

This role provides curriculum development through consultation with partner schools, industry and key stakeholders to deliver leading-edge technology, discovery and innovation that supports the advanced education and training that school students need so they can flourish in the rapidly changing global economy.

This position requires a demonstrable understanding of the secondary or tertiary education sector, as well as experience in leading a team of educators. Strong organisation and communication skills; a commitment to innovative learning; and a passion for the fields of science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics (STEAM) are essential.

This role is a key and active participant of the Casey Tech School leadership team, ensuring educational excellence, financial and budget success, business growth and building and maintaining a motivated, effective, respectful team and working environment.

Your key accountabilities will include:

  • Supporting the Tech School Director by contributing to strategy development and operations of the Casey Tech School
  • Driving the development and implementation of student experience and retention strategies to improve early engagement, satisfaction and success
  • Leading the delivery of responsive education programs that meet the organisation's objectives as well as leading the engagement of industry and school partners
  • Leading the development, documentation and delivery of Casey Tech School‘s cutting-edge, technology-rich, STEAM, project-based and problem-based curriculum programs
  • Supporting the co-design of curriculum programs with partner school teachers
  • Introducing course delivery models that optimise educational quality, use of resources and viability
  • Building and maintaining strategic relationships, alliances and partnerships with secondary schools, local industry and key stakeholders to enhance product and delivery strategies.


ABOUT YOU

You will have a graduate degree or higher in Education and vocational or bachelor-level qualifications in any of the Health, Science, Maths, Engineering, or Technology disciplines.  VIT registered secondary teachers and/or leaders desirable, along with the following essential skills and experience:

  • Demonstrated experience within industry and/or the educational sector
  • Demonstrated experience in the development, delivery and embedding of innovative curriculum and learning programs for secondary-aged students
  • Proven experience in designing and delivering professional development to adult learners
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across all levels of an organisation including schools, industry, government and the community
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong understanding of contemporary education pedagogies, including project-based learning
  • Strong interest in STEAM education and in innovative STEAM industry practices.
