The Property Development and Management department is a specialised commercial team that manages the business of Property for Penrith City Council. We work hard to realise the potential of land and infrastructure by developing land for housing, business, and industry which builds social and economic prosperity for Penrith’s communities.
About the role
The Head of Property Investment will lead the team in pursuing land and Property Investment opportunities, innovative initiatives, and proposals. You will facilitate the development and delivery of relevant strategies, policies, programs, and projects for Council, including optimisation of the property portfolio and implementation of the Property Investment strategy to support Council's future initiatives and direction. A key to your success will be an ability to think strategically and provide insights to the team in order to drive strategic property portfolio planning and investment matters.
This is an exciting opportunity to play an integral role in the development, analysis, and execution of Council's long-term Property Investment objectives. Build strategic relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including businesses, industry, Government, and the community.
Essential
- A tertiary qualification and significant experience in Land Economics, Valuation, Property Development, Urban Planning or related area
- Demonstrated experience in project initiation, management and co-ordination of multi- disciplinary projects
- Demonstrated sound experience within development related industry
- Highly developed negotiation, mediation and conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated people management skills with the ability to lead, manage, and motivate your team
- Demonstrated high level oral and written communication and presentation skills
- A current class C Driver Licence
Desirable
- Knowledge of issues pertaining to Local Government and metropolitan planning and familiarity with the relevant legislation
- Knowledge of Project Management applications and techniques
