About the role
As a Head of Quality Engineering, you will be leading and developing a high performing team of Quality Engineers who are equipped to make quality related decisions as part of cross-functional product development teams as well as part of the life cycle management of mature products. The Head of Quality Engineering is responsible for ensuring products are developed in-line with the Quality framework of Breville’s Global Product department as well as setting up and maintaining KPI for the team in managing products in the field for all aspects of Quality.
Keyresponsibilities include:
Lead a team of Quality Engineers to perform efficiently and contribute to their optimum for the achievement of the organizational objectives in new product development
Ensure products developed via the NPD process, are in alignment, conformance, and compliance with national, regional, and global regulations, as well as Breville product specifications, company policies and business objectives.
Ensure activities are defined and carried out to continuously increase customer satisfaction by improving first pass yield of Breville QC and product return/ repair/ replacement rates globally.
Review of Quality requirements, specifications, and life test specifications and all other quality deliverables for each gates/milestone in the PDP are fulfilled.
Ensure internal technical specs for each of our product categories is establish & reviewed regularly.
Ensure quality learnings are captured, documented, and integrated into PDP process as part of the Quality inputs for NPD projects.
Ensure young products from NPD fulfills Quality KPI guidelines at Team Release.
Ensure quality records from PDP processes are generated, maintained, and ready to use for LCM reference.
Perform the RACI roles for PDP as deployed.
The Head of Quality Engineering is the people manager for all QE based in the headquarter. In addition to directly focus on and be responsible for the management of NPD product development quality, through working with managers in LCM and OPD Quality.
The Head of Quality Engineering ensures KPI for the teams and individuals are established and reviewed as a process of performance management.
We’re Interested in Hearing from People Who Have
Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Engineering
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Engineering
Previous experience in a new product development environment
People management experience
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrable experience applying analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong computer skills with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word required
Strong influencing skills with key stakeholders
End to end project management experience
High level of attention to detail
Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workloads
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
