Asia Pacific Aircraft Storage (APAS) was founded in 2009 and provides dedicated commercial aircraft storage, maintenance and part-out services to international airlines and lessors.APAS is searching for a dynamic, experienced professional to fill the position of Head of Quality, Safety, and Training. The individual will integrate into a close-knit, excellence-driven team, focused on maintaining high-quality standards and improving on existing Quality, Safety and Training systems and processes.Role DescriptionThe ideal candidate for this pivotal role will have a minimum of 10 years' experience in a senior management capacity within the aviation industry. They will exhibit a comprehensive understanding of the CASA, EASA, and FAA regulations, and have an aptitude for sourcing pertinent information. Experience in the design and development of efficient Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Safety Management Systems (SMS) is critical for success in this position.Responsibilities:
- Overseeing document control, including managing revision changes in line with regulatory shifts and industry best practices.
- Establishing and maintaining a register detailing the distribution and modifications of all maintenance documents and procedures manuals.
- Approving and managing Maintenance Approvals (MA's) for Certifying Engineers.
- Ensuring the organisation maintains high standards of airworthiness through consistent audits of processes, facilities, and procedures.
- Implementing a quality audit schedule with a maximum interval of twelve (12) calendar months.
- Addressing all audit findings within an acceptable timeframe and initiating corrective and preventative actions.
- Assessing the effectiveness of any corrective measures implemented.
- Communicating lessons learned from audit findings to all staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Coordinating with regulatory authorities, customers, and contractors on quality assurance-related matters.
- Managing and continually enhancing the organization’s Safety Management System (SMS), with safety being a core requirement of our day-to-day operations.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in senior management roles within the aviation industry.
- In-depth knowledge of CASA, EASA, and FAA regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to locate and interpret critical industry information.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing efficient Quality and Safety Management Systems.
- Comprehensive knowledge of WHS legislation and aviation safety requirements.
- Proficiency in risk management, safety audits, and investigation techniques.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership capabilities and a proactive approach to safety management.
