Key Responsibilities:
Technology Strategy and Vision:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Drive innovation and leverage emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
- Ensure technology architecture and infrastructure support current and future business needs.
Leadership and Team Management:
- Build and manage a high-performing, engaged team.
- Inspire and motivate the team to solve complex problems and achieve business benefits rapidly.
- Conduct regular 1:1 coaching and performance reviews.
- Instill a culture of continuous improvement and adopt leading Software Development methodologies (e.g., Agile).
Software Development and Delivery:
- Oversee the operational success of all products and features, managing high-availability systems.
- Manage both market-wide products and direct integration development with key partners.
- Ensure high-quality delivery throughout the Software Development lifecycle.
- Implement best practices for Software Development, including Agile methodologies.
Operational Performance and High Availability Systems:
- Ensure reliability, scalability, and performance of all critical systems.
- Maintain and enhance high availability systems for processing significant order volumes.
- Modernize systems and architectures for optimal cost outcomes.
- Monitor and improve system performance.
Vendor and Commercial Management:
- Manage relationships with external vendors and partners.
- Negotiate contracts and oversee technology procurement.
- Ensure effective vendor performance aligned with business goals.
Integration Development:
- Lead development and management of integration solutions with key market partners.
- Ensure seamless integration with major wholesalers, pharmacy groups, and other stakeholders.
- Oversee EDI systems management and implementation.
Collaboration with Executive Leadership:
- Work closely with the CEO and other executives to align technology initiatives with business strategy.
- Provide technical insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Participate in executive meetings and contribute to overall business planning.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure all technology solutions comply with industry regulations and standards.
- Implement robust security protocols
- Manage technology-related risks and develop contingency plans.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements.
- Drive continuous improvement within the technology department.
- Foster a culture of innovation.
Customer and Market Focus:
- Ensure technology solutions meet customer needs, including pharmacies, suppliers, POS vendors, and government departments.
- Gather and analyze customer feedback to inform development.
- Support development of market-wide products that enhance customer satisfaction.
Desired Skills and Attributes:
- Over 5 years in technology leadership roles within retail, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or technology sectors.
- Experience with EDI, inventory systems, ERPs, CRMs, middleware, eCommerce, and data platforms.
- Proficient in C# and .NET, including SOAP, REST, JavaScript, CSS, HTML.
- Working knowledge of Python.
- Familiarity with the Australian pharmacy market and regulatory environment.
- Strong leadership skills and experience building high-performing teams.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with creative problem-solving abilities.
- Strong collaboration skills and experience working cross-functionally.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the Australian pharmacy ecosystem.
- Ability to develop and execute comprehensive business development plans.
Technical Expertise:
- Languages: C# / .NET
- Frameworks: WCF / SOAP / REST
- Databases: Relational (SQL Server, Postgres, Oracle)
- Web: Angular or React, JavaScript, CSS, HTML
- Cloud Experience: Azure
