Overview / Purpose of the Position

This role plays a pivotal part in advancing BSI's mission to support businesses on their journey to sustainability excellence while promoting sustainability best practices across Australia and New Zealand. In this role, you will be responsible for the development and go-to-market strategy of BSI's Assurance Sustainability solutions across Australia and New Zealand. You will operationalize BSI's global sustainability offering using Australia and New Zealand data and insights to successfully align our offering to the Government led Net Zero Strategies and introduce new services for the local markets as required. You'll work with our team of experts to promote our existing certification, verification, training, and product certification services to support organizations to measure, monitor and improve their impact on both the environment and society.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the organization's Sustainability Services and client portfolio.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to increase market presence and revenue growth in alignment with organization objectives.
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to create compelling proposals and campaigns to attract potential clients.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with existing and potential clients to drive customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Work closely with the marketing department to expand our reach and drive increased demand for our sustainability solutions.
  • Articulate complex concepts in a clear and engaging manner, tailoring presentations and content to various audiences, including clients, industry professionals, and stakeholders.
  • Create and contribute towards technical documents for both internal and client use.
  • Engage with key stakeholders, including government agencies, industry associations, NGOs, and other relevant organizations.
  • Represent the company in sustainability-related forums, conferences, and events to enhance our visibility and thought leadership.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams to ensure the effective implementation of Sustainability initiatives.
  • Demonstrate expertise in ESG standards, particularly ISO 14064, and keep updated on emerging sustainability trends and regulations.
  • Assess current organizational skillset and contribute towards building future expertise.
  • Lead the development and enhancement of certification methodologies and verification procedures in accordance with industry best practices.
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders from BSI's Asia Pacific and Global teams.

Person Specification

Knowledge and Experience

  • Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing business development strategies to drive revenue growth.
  • Deep expertise in sustainability-related standards such as ISO 14064, PAS 2060, PAS 2050 and CCER
  • Previous experience as a sustainability consultant or assessor is highly preferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • Be comfortable in a strong service environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Collaborative and a relationship builder at all levels and across industries

Education / Qualifications

  • Qualifications in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration, or a related field.

Personal Qualities / Aptitudes

  • Passion for sustainability.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to create actionable plans.
  • Good facilitation skills with great business acumen.
  • Results orientated.
