The Head of Technology will lead the strategic and operational plans for Metropolitan Memorial Parks.

Your new company 

Metropolitan Memorial Parks (MMP) is established under the NSW Crown Land Management Act, with crucial responsibilities under the Cemetery & Crematoria Act and other legislation. As the cemeteries and crematoria operator for the NSW Government, MMP are committed to offering genuine care and affordable choices for everyone, both now and into the future. MMP was formed from the amalgamation of three former entities on 1 July 2023, with a forward-looking vision to expand our services and meet the diverse needs of our communities.

With a vast responsibility encompassing 400 hectares of Crown Land, MMP oversee the management of eight Memorial Parks across the Sydney and Hunter region. These parks serve as places of reflection, offering support for people to grieve, celebrate life, and remember their loved ones. Services include sustainable and affordable interment options, crematoria, memorialisation, chapels, functions, history, and recreational facilities. MMP employs approximately 280 staff, with a substantial annual turnover of $85 million.

Your new role 

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), The Head of Technology will lead the strategic and operational plans for consolidation of existing technology to build a fit for purpose, effective, reliable and secure, technology service delivery, service management and service integration for the MMP cemeteries.

The role is responsible for ensuring reliable services for MMP’s stakeholders, internal teams and external vendors. This in turn enables the delivery on MMP’s strategic ambitions during a time of organisational growth and change.

What you'll need to succeed 

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in leading and strategically guiding a diverse IT team to achieve key objectives. As the successful candidate, you will possess robust leadership capabilities, coupled with excellent stakeholder engagement skills. A track record of demonstrated success in similar roles would be highly advantageous. MMP are seeking a visionary who can navigate the complexities of modern IT landscapes while keeping a firm eye on our strategic goals.
