The Sydney Sports Academy is looking for a Head Sports Physiotherapist that is looking for a opportunity to lead our sports rehabilitation program, You have a great opportunity to work with our athletes from multiple sports everyday to help them return to sport bigger and better than before. Located in Rouse Hill, our Athlete Performance Centre is the home for all athletes in Sydney.
Key responsibilities of this role:
- Must be available to work 20 hours per week Monday to Friday 4pm - 8pm
- Specialist physiotherapy treatment (including manual therapy, exercise planning and prescription) and support to all athletes within the Sydney Sports Academy
- Manage the musculoskeletal testing & screening of athletes
- Oversee the delivery of specialist rehabilitation service to all injured athletes part of the Sydney Sports academy including developing long-term plans and communication of progress to the Head of Performance
- Manage all consumables required and maintenance of physiotherapy equipment.
- Liaise and meet regularly with the performance team for optimal medical management
- Liaise with Doctors & Specialists surgeons regarding the progress and on-going treatment of athletes returning to sport
- Communicate regularly with the performance team regarding any specialist physiotherapy issues related to athlete welfare or performance.
- Maintain up to date notes on our athlete management system
- Complete written reports as required by the performance team
- Build and maintain relations with all staff to ensure relationships of trust, respect, support, and continuous and open communication exist
- Complete understanding of strength & conditioning and how teach strength & gym exercises
- Be able to bring existing clientele to the Sydney sports academy through your own build relationships & networks
- Be able to build a referral network with surgeons & allied health practitioners for continued growth of the sports rehabilitation program
The successful candidate will need:
- Bachelor/Masters Degree in Physiotherapy
- Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Current Physiotherapy registration including up to date personal indemnity insurance
- Medicare Provider Number
- Full drivers’ licence
- Excellent IT and organisational skills
- Be highly motivated with ability to work under his/her own direction to achieve performance targets within agreed timeframe
- Have a proactive, flexible performance orientated approach
- An understanding of, and ability to maintain, appropriate medical confidentiality
- Ability to analyse complex medical problems and develop bespoke solutions.
- Experience working with sporting teams in the semi-pro & professional level

- First Aid Certificate
- Current Provide/Perform CPR
- National Police / Criminal History Check
