As a Production Leading Hand, you will be responsible for overseeing the fabrication and assembly of a variety of foodservice equipment products. The role requires delegating tasks in such a way as to allow workers to specialise. The Leading Hand is expected to set a positive example that subordinates are encouraged to follow.
More specifically your duties will include the following:
- Manage a countertop appliance assembly line
- Confirm fabrication requirements from drawings
- Manage the allocation of tasks to staff
- Apply quality control regimes to finished product
- Provide on the job training
In determining suitability for the role, the following criteria are considered essential:
- Ability to read drawings
- Ability to formulate picking lists from bill of materials
- Skilled in using hand and power tools
- Ability to efficiently delegate tasks across a team
- Ability to critique and control the quality of subordinates’ output
- Ability to follow Work Instructions and Procedures
