Job Position
Head Surf Coach – Manager of Learn To Surf, Surf School.
Location
Northern beaches, Perth, W.A.
Pay
Premium per hourly rate, at a casual rate. 
$40 to $50 an hour which includes superannuation.
Job Type and Employment Status
Casual position.
Payment is based on running/having classes, unfortunately won't get paid if classes don't run.
Superannuation is paid in hourly rate.
Shift and Schedule
5.5 hours per day.
Thursday to Sunday – four days a week.
About Surf School
We are a new boutique Surf School opening on the northern Beaches of Perth, W.A., who are recruiting a Head Surf Coach To Manage and run the learn to Surf School.
This Learn To Surf School will be for all ages 6+, all inclusive and non-discriminative.
The location of the surf lessons will be on the pristine northern beaches of Perth, W.A. and on patrolled beaches, as dedicated to opening and running a safe Surf School.
About the Role
The role is a casual position, that will run all months except in the Winter months and will be based on the northern beaches of Perth W.A.
We want to give a quality learn to surf experience and we want everyone to fall in love with surfing. Looking for a head coach that has the drive to always give the best possible learn to surf experience and to spread the stoke of surfing to the people on the northern beaches of Perth.
Key Responsibilities
1) Run and manage learn to surf classes for all ages and all inclusive. Tailor classes by gauging the surfing levels of all students.
2) If necessary, pick up surfboards and rashies before classes start and drop off surfboards and rashies after classes finish.
3) Manage and maintain equipment to a high-level to promote safe surf lessons. Immediately notify management if any equipment gets damaged during classes and possibly needs fixing or replacing. It is the responsibility of the head Coach To notify of any damage, this is to ensure all equipment is safe.
4) Sign in and make sure walk-ups have paid and signed in. Therefore, payment responsibility for walkups and administration responsibility for signing all students in.
Desirable Prerequisites of the Job
  1. Exhibits these personal qualities such as: energetic, fit, positive attitude, healthy, hard-working, compassionate and patient especially with working/coaching kids. 
  2. Natural leader with good interpersonal and communication skills.
  3. Available to work weekends and can work early starts.
  4. Can handle and adapt to working in all different and changing environments, for example the changing weather conditions, especially in W.A.
  5. Good surfer, who is an experienced water person with knowledge of the ocean and water environment and appreciation of this in terms of ocean safety.
  6. Previous coaching experience in surfing is highly desirable and also a teaching background is desirable.
  7. Customer service experience (not essential).
  8. Abiding and adhering to the protocols and procedures set for the Learn To Surf School to ensure its run and managed in a safe manner.
